Riding in on the coattails of 2009’s Beatles reissue madness, EMI celebrated
what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday with spiffy
remasters of the singer’s catalog. As with the Beatles, a few accoutrements
have sprung up to support the campaign, notably the John Lennon Box
Of Vision, which serves as a visual and literary companion to the newly
remastered John Lennon catalog as well as those titles left behind in the latest
remastering.
Divided into three books, and housed in what’s called an “artist’s
canvas” slipcase with a silver-inked portrait of Lennon and a self-portrait
line-drawing of the singer banging away on his famous “Baby Grand”
on the back. Inside is where all the goodies are, including a hardcover cover
book featuring all of Lennon’s LP Artworks (front, back & inner sleeves)
in full LP size. This book is rounded out with additional pictures, news clips
and whatnot of John & Yoko during their reign in the late 60s and early
70s.
An accompanying soft-cover book features the complete Lennon discography with
in-depth details about each album. Lastly, the box includes the CD storage system
rfolder, designed to store all official Lennon CD releases. A limited edition
