As part of her Redemption Tour, Hungarian-born singer Dorothy Martin, along with her namesake band, performed a sensational show for her adopted hometown crowd.  The Los Angeles band has been releasing music since late 2014, but only recently have they been gaining some mainstream popularity.

Her 12-song set included several numbers from her recently released album The Way. Dorothy has one of the most powerful voices in all rock music. Her main attribute is the ability to sing a song with passion. Dorothy’s music leans into heavier rock with Southern swagger and country-style storytelling.

She handles the stage like a seasoned professional. Her band performed the entire show immaculately. Nick Annis flawlessly handled guitar duties for regular guitarist Sam Koltun. Longtime bassist and band leader Eliot Lorango and drummer Chris Reeves provided a solid back beat for the evening.

The evening was almost complete when Guns’ N’ Roses guitarist Slash joined Dorothy on stage for the blues standard “Key to The Highway,” followed by two of Dorothy’s originals, “Gifts From The Holy Ghost” and “Tombstone Town.” The latter is a single from The Way.

Anyone who is curious about her music should start with her latest release and work your way backwards. The entire evening was filled with great music and a lot of energy. I would not miss seeing this tour as Dorothy is on the rise for stardom.
