For what’s likely to be their final appearance in Los Angeles, the Go-Go’s walked out at 9:25, welcomed the audience and went right into “Vacation,” one of the band’s many hits. With it being summer time, what better way to open the show.
Their set included classic hits as well as a solo hit from Belinda Carlisle “Mad About You,” and a short punk set, and even a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” On “Cool Jerk,” audience members from the front were brought on stage to dance along with the Go-Go’s.
The audience sang along with nearly every song, I mean, whether you’re a guy or a girl, who doesn’t love the Go-Go’s? There were girls at the show in their teens dressed like they were in the 80s even. It was nice to see fans of all ages. One word to describe a Go-Go’s show is “fun.” How could you not want to dance and jump around to every song?
The Go-Go’s played a 16-song set the finished up with two fan favorites — “Our Lips Are Sealed,” and “We Got The Beat.” The band led the audience with clapping along on “Our Lips Are Sealed.” The first encore was two songs — Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and “Get Up and Go.” The band returned to the stage for “Head Over Heels.”
