Mark Farner’s American Band delivered a high‑energy, nostalgia‑rich rock show at the historic Golden Nugget Showroom in Las Vegas.

Farner and his band hit the stage at 8:15 and showed right away that he still harnesses the same energy and voice he had 50+ years ago. Backed by a tight band, who showed off their harmonies and sharp musicianship. With Farner, they were able to recreate the Grand Funk sound with authenticity.

Mark Farner’s American Band brought his four-piece group consisting of Farner himself handling lead vocals and guitar, Paul Randolph on bass and Vocals, Brandon Wardon on keyboards and vocals, and drummer Hubert Crawford who handled lead vocals on “We’re An American Band.”

Farner blended lead and rhythm guitar seamlessly, showing a diverse style which included his trademark funk‑infused swagger.

Heard tonight were Grand Funk Railroad classics including “I’m Your Captain/Closer To Home,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “The Locomotion,” “Bad Time,” “Footstompin’ Music,” and “Heartbreaker.”

Farner spoke openly about his roots, the Michigan rock sound, and the cultural mix that shaped his music. His band includes Michigan natives as well.

Mark Farner’s American Band is a must‑see for any classic rock or Grand Funk fan.  A legendary vocalist and guitarist still performing at a high level. If you’re into authentic, feel‑good American rock with real history behind it, this concert delivers every time.
