Foreigner's Mick Jones Sees 'No End In Sight'

Tower of Power: Four Decades of Urban Soul

Tower Of powerEmerging from the psychedelic haze of late 60s San Francisco, Tower of Power has been dealt, over the course of 40 soulful years, their share of ups and downs. Their stellar horn section stayed gainfully employed during the lean times by the likes of Elton John, Phil Collins, Toto, and Huey Lewis and the News, but the group stuck it out and reactivated. Now, with a new album on their own label, a heavy touring schedule, and a positive outlook, Tower of Power is on the move and ready to groove once again. Vintage Rock had the privilege of speaking with Emilio Castillo, TOP co-founder and second tenor sax, about the new album and the group’s unparalleled career. After reading through the interview, be sure to check out our review of the latest Tower of Power album, Great American Soulbook.
